The Deep Snooze

This is Little Boy, one of our cats, who loves to sleep with his head buried. I'm doing a little catching up on this blog. It's all about cats & I welcome any artist who'd like to share their cat paintings.

Pearl

A sweet cat named Pearl with sun burned pink ears. 8" x 8" oil on gallery-wrapped canvas.

Pumpkin Basking

Pumpkin Basking is an 8" x 10" oil painting on gallery-wrapped canvas (needs no framing). A woman who said she didn't really like cats bought it--she said she loved the painting! I'm glad it found a good home.

New Orleans Cat

A New Orleans cat that most likely belongs to one of the shop owners on Magazine Street.

Bree in Greys

This was done for a Daily Paint Works challenge. It's one of our cats, Bree, done in watercolor from life, as she snoozed. She didn't stay long, so this was a very quick painting. Just trying to capture the "essence" of what she's doing.

Welcome to the Painted Cat!

If you've happened upon this brand new blog and you're an artist, specifically one who enjoys painting cats, leave your website address and/or blog address, plus an email in "comments" & I'll send you an invite to paint & post cat paintings, any style--any medium, here. (Websites & blogs are previewed to maintain quality & safety on The Painted Cat site).

This is a site to share & exhibit cat paintings. Any level of painter may become a member. Hopefully, this will become a site to share ideas, painting techniques, & challenges of painting the wonderful, soulful, independent, curious, amazing, beautiful, spiritual cat.
